Chantry Primary Academy is an amazing VbE Enhanced Quality Mark School.
You can't fail to be inspired by the palpable atmosphere of values which permates the entire school.
Staff, children and families  contribute hugely to their community in many ways.
At Chantry we teach children a range of values which help them to work with one another cooperatively and with respect.
They learn the importance of friendship and unity.
We teach children to approach life with positivity and hope, and to show empathy and acceptance towards others.
These values make our school community happy and harmonious, a fun place, where children feel secure.
Executive Principal of Chantry Primary Academy,
Cori Bateman, says that of the many values-based projects the school does, this one has had a hugely positive impact on her young pupils and on the elderly folk in the community.

Stepping Stones is a primary pupil referral unit and provides educational placement for up to 32 primary pupils aged between 5-11 who have been permanently excluded or at great risk of permanent exclusion.

The school is proud to be graded as an Outstanding school by OFSTED (March 2015) and are especially proud of their PSHCE and values-based curriculum.

Children educated at Stepping Stones are respectful, kind, tolerant, committed and confident. They are taught the importance to both trust and to be trustworthy within their school community.

The school works in close partnership with parents/ carers and the communities in which it serves to prevent pupils from exclusion and to promote inclusion.

We help children and families believe in themselves again.

Loddon Primary School

‘Loddon’s legacy will be that our children are confident and determined to make a positive difference to our ever-changing world.’Loddon pic

In April 2013 Loddon Primary School began its journey to become a Values-Based Education (VbE) School after attending a conference led by Mrs Julie Rees (aka Julie Duckworth author of ‘The Little Book of Values’).

Our decision to follow the principles of VbE stemmed from the belief that it would support us in our aim to develop a community of resilient learners, who work their hardest to achieve well across a broad range of skills and knowledge.

It also, we felt, had the potential to unite us in a common philosophy for our whole school community which, in turn, would strengthen our ethos and improve team work and well-being.

Ledbury Primary School

Values-based Education is threaded through the school’s curriculum delivery.

Julie Rees Ledbury

Julie Rees, headteacher at Ledbury Primary School in Herefordshire, describes the impact this has had on her school:

Ledbury Primary School has grown as a leading Values-based School over the last twelve years.

In 2006 when a Values-based curriculum was first introduced, the focus was on assemblies, PSHE lessons and creating the optimum learning environment.

Since then, the school has embraced a Values-driven Curriculum.  The gains have been reflected in a deeper understanding of who we are, intertwined with what we do.

Consequently, this has had a positive impact on passionate staff continually driving school development, resulting in improved learning outcomes over time.

Staff, governors, parents and pupils are proud of the school’s vision ‘Be all you can be and together we will shine’.

We began our journey towards being a values-based school in 2015.

The school joined ‘The White Horse Federation’ and with their support, continued to explicitly weave values into the exciting curriculum and celebrate values on a day to day basis, both inside and outside the classroom.

We involved all stakeholders from the outset to ensure it was a shared journey...

Phoenix Junior Academy

Phoenix is a values-based success story, and it’s a story which should be shared with on a national basisVbE Quality Mark Report - January 2018

One of the headlines of this transformation has to be huge shift from poor behaviour to excellent behaviour.

Phoenix VbE QM Certificate

In the year before VbE was introduced, 246 school days were lost through exclusion; last year there were 0 days lost.

The school’s attendance has also increased dramatically from 93.5% to 96.5%.

The school’s core values, for example trust and tolerance, are woven through all aspects of school life.

These values are frequently referred to during lessons to encourage pupils to reflect on their behaviour and its impact on others.

Pupils embody these values in the mature way they conduct themselves and the respect they show for each other and staff. As a result, pupils have a strong sense of right and wrong and value diversity. - OFSTED May 2016
